Stories of Hope and Home

Excerpt from "I was seven"

STORIES OF HOPE AND HOME

Co-creation of an opera in collaboration with Stories of Hope and Home, a story-telling project offering Asylum Seekers and Refugees a space to share their stories and others a space to hear them.

"People from countries as varied as Nigeria, Eritrea, Iran, and Azerbaijan who’ve fled war and persecution to the UK performed to an audience of 500 children from 15 Birmingham Schools of Sanctuary across the region.

The remarkable performance was written by the group of refugees, along with Birmingham writer Steven Camden, and with music by Daniel Blanco Albert. Welsh National Opera Cenedlaethol Cymru collaborated with Stories of Hope and Home to bring the performance to the stage."
